It is an image I have elaten in the lead when learning about the America Civil War. The black and neat effigy is capturing the defunct passs lying on a battle force plain stitch after the involvement at Gettysburg in 1863. The exposureer, Timothy H. OSullivan worked with the well-known photographer, Mathew Brady, to capture images of the Civil War. The reason why I was drawn to this particular photograph, however, is because of the emphasis placed on the pass lying on his back with his face upwards, pointing slightly towards the camera. His dead expression is very chilling. Another thing that drew me to this photograph is that you can see in the distance, the abundance of dead bes scattered across the war stricken field which added to the chilling mood of the photograph.

This painting is save chilling to me, however it portrays a different palpate of risk of infection and struggle than the co! mprehend of defeat that I got from the photograph of the decease caused by the Battle at Gettysburg. Here you can see there is a crew of men who bearing to be stuck or propel onto an ice structure. There are men who have been thrown clear up their ship or boat, who go down injure in the snow along with various items that were thrown off the ship as well.
