It is an image I have elaten in the lead when learning about the America Civil War. OSullivan worked with the well-known photographer, Mathew Brady, to capture images of the Civil War. The reason why I was drawn to this particular photograph, however, is because of the emphasis placed on the pass lying on his back with his face upwards, pointing slightly towards the camera. His dead expression is very chilling. Another thing that drew me to this photograph is that you can see in the distance, the abundance of dead bes scattered across the war stricken field which added to the chilling mood of the photograph.
